Our Reflections team offer a midwifery-led debriefing service. It provides you and your family the opportunity to meet with a midwife to discuss your experience of pregnancy and birth with our Trust.
Our Reflections service aims to provide you and your family with clarity and understanding around birth. It offers time and space for people to express their feelings about their birth experience.
We accept referrals to our Reflections service from anyone who has given birth with North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.
We offer telephone appointments or face-to-face at the University Hospital of Hartlepool.

How do I book an appointment?
Appointments are offered six weeks from the day you have given birth.
You can also self-refer using the contact details below. If self-referring, please make sure you leave your:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Contact number
Alternatively, you can speak to a health care professional who can refer on your behalf.

The Reflections service is for patients who are already on our maternity pathway or have recently given birth, to discuss their maternity experience.
The reflections team does not support in registering pregnancies.
If you have recently found out you are pregnant and need to inform us, please ensure you register your pregnancy through our online BadgerNotes registration form to start the triage process and to get your first appointment.
