Families affected by the loss of a baby are invited to attend a special baby loss memorial service at the University Hospital of North Tees.
The service, hosted by the chaplaincy team at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, will take place on Tuesday 15 October from 6.45pm to 7.30pm, in the spirituality centre at the hospital in Hardwick Road, Stockton.
Open to anyone
Jim Wright, lead chaplain at the trust, said: “This service is open to anyone who would like to pay their respects – but especially those who have been touched in some way with the experience of baby loss.
“This year we are holding the service on national baby loss memorial week, a week our maternity and chaplaincy teams always mark.
“Anyone coming along to the service will also be invited to light a candle. This is part of the national ‘wave of light’ at around 7pm that evening, where people around the world can light a candle, leaving it burning for at least one hour to remember all babies that have died too soon.”
