Successful organisations have a shared purpose, they know where they’re going and they know how they’re going to get there.
At North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, our plans are shaped by our patients, staff, partners and our local population.
Our vision
Our vision is simple – we want to provide the best healthcare for everyone in our population. We intend to get there by putting people first and using our resources for the benefit of the whole community.
We know that just doing what we’ve always done will not meet the needs of the population we serve.
We all need to better manage the health of the population so that in 20 or 30 years’ time, our communities will be healthier, fitter and less reliant on hospital services.
To achieve our vision, we will:
- Focus on groups in society
- Deliver interventions across our integrated health and care system
- Manage the health of our population better
- Demonstrate strong and effective collaboration and trust
- Improve and further integrate our services
- Deliver services that are clinically effective, high quality and safe
- Promote innovation and inclusivity
- Maintain financial stability
Our direction
We have strategic aims so that we can continue to deliver high quality healthcare to everyone in need.
As a progressive and forward thinking trust, we make sure that our strategic direction is based on sound, practical evidence from the Trust, our partners and both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
Our aims can be broken down into four main areas.
Putting our population first
We create a culture of collaboration and engagement so that our staff can better understand the healthcare needs of the population we serve.
We will do this by engaging with carers, patients and their loved ones, staff and partners. We want all members of our population to be central in our conversations about your healthcare.
Our aim is to develop and implement new services and approaches to our current services to ultimately improve the outcomes for all of our patients.
Valuing people
Every member of staff, patient, carer and partner is a member of our community. Whether you’re working in our hospitals or using our community services, we make sure you are valued and heard.
We have a set of shared values across our Trust that we promote and live every day for the wellbeing of our patients as well as our staff.
We develop, train and retain our staff for the good of our future organisation and, ultimately, our population.
Transforming our services
We continually review, improve and grow our healthcare services while complying with required standards to ensure North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust is sustainable.
We deliver cost effective and efficient services by making better use of available technology and looking to the future of innovation.
Health and wellbeing
We embrace the health and wellbeing of our population to ensure their health needs are accurately reflected and catered for. Our ultimate goal is to make our communities healthier.
Many of our staff come into contact with thousands of people every day and we make every contact count. This means we encourage and support a healthy lifestyle in everyone we meet.
We have pinpointed areas of health issues and inequality in our local population. We are working with our partners to reduce these priorities so our communities can live healthier lives.
