Fluoroscopy is a type of medical imaging that helps us to look at moving body structures with a continuous x-ray image on a computer screen. This helps a doctor look and see how an organ or structure is functioning within the body.
Our team of specialists carry out a wide range of procedures which often prevent the patient requiring surgery, such as a uterine fibroid embolisation which is done rather than a hysterectomy.
Most of these procedures are either day case procedures or an overnight stay and result in a far quicker recovery for our patients.
Other procedures, such as biliary stent insertions are carried out for malignant conditions. These allow our patients relief from unpleasant symptoms, such as jaundice, and often allow them to be cared for at home.
